Another great day out today.  It was in the 60's but very windy.  Today I did some 800's on the track.  I jogged over to the track for a warm up and my legs felt heavy and tired.  Not a good sign.  Decided to stick with the plan and see what happened.  When I got to the track the plan was for 5 x 800 at 3:00.  I haven't ran any speed work outs in months so wasn't sure how the legs would respond.  Here were the splits:

1st - 3:01

2nd - 3:00

3rd - 2:59

4th - 3:02

5th - 3:02

My legs felt horrible on the first one and I wondered if I would be able to complete the workout.  I felt better on the 2nd and 3rd ones but 4th and 5th were a struggle.  I think the combination of bad legs and a very windy day didn't make for a good session.  Anyway, I was glad to get it in and it is something to build on.

Great workout, nice way to hit the splits even when you legs were not feeling it at the start!

Awesome job holding the splits so close.

Thanks! It has been a long time since I was on the track. It was good to run faster even if the legs didn't cooperate.
