Glad to be back home today and it was a great morning for running.  It was around 55 with no wind.  I felt good this morning and started off easy.  As I went along I picked up the pace and then ran the last couple of mile close to MP.  I was suprised to feel good after the travel and a full week of running.  Hopefully, tomorrow I can go longer.  Also, I am starting to put together a summer racing/training schedule.  I think I will run some 10ks and maybe another half before building up for another fall marathon.  I want to take my mileage up some and also add in more quality sessions.

Great run today and great training strategy you have planned for the summer. Do you have a lot of local 10k's and Half Marathons in your area?

Thanks for the feedback. I really want to get a good summer of training in and see what I can do in a fall marathon. We have a lot of races here of all kinds of distances. I think I will mix it up some in the summer just for fun and workouts. We don't have any summer half marathons. I would like to run one in Sept to see where my training is before running a marathon. I am think about a marathon the first part of Nov. How about you? Are you starting to look at some potential races?

Nice to see you getting back into a groove. You've done a nice job easing your way gradually after the half marathon. I lack your patience and sometimes pay for my quick returns. It's so nice to go into the summer/fall mode of running...look forward to encouraging one another along in training.

Dave, I read an article about Ryan Hall and he said after the London marathon he was excited about his result and jumped back into training too quickly. He thought that was the reason for his sub-par performance at the Olympics. He said that after a marathon he would take off 2 weeks and then ease back into training for the next 2 weeks. Even though it is hard to do it makes sense to me that if the body is properly recovered then you should be able to do stronger workouts going forward. Also, as I get older I am trying to make sure I stay healthy and try not to get injuried so I can get longer blocks of training in without time off for injuries. Thought I would give this a try and see what happens.
