After taking off 6 weeks to see if I could get my achilles fully recovered, I started back running today.  I have been biking to keep in shape but really been wanting to get back to running for some time.  I have been holding off because I really wanted to finally put this achilles injury behind me. I am hoping that this did the trick.  It was really warm today (almost 80) with a slight wind.  I did some stretching then walked for about 5 minutes to loosen up the foot.  I started off super easy on the running and never ran much faster than about 8:30 pace.  The foot felt good and I didn't have any problems.  Probably could have went further but I really want to take it easy coming back and make sure I don't create any problems for the achilles.  My plan is to continue biking most days and then run every other day as I build back up to full time running.

Glad to hear the foot felt good. Sounds like you have a good safe plan for coming back.

Glad to see the achilles cooperated. Take it slow and methodical to help keep yourself healthy. Good to see you coming back!

Thanks Tom and Jeff! Good to start back even if it is only a couple of miles?

Great news! Taking it slow is a good plan. Be careful out there on that bike. I live in a "bike friendly" area and I still consider my 1 mile commute an extreme sport!
