It was a little nicer outside today (25) but windy. I ran at lunch so it was nice to be able to experience the sun shining. I didn't feel the best today starting out. I had a headache and just felt kind of flat. I had decided to do a progression run today and didn't want to change the plan so just decided to push through the way I was feeling. I did a two mile warmup and started feeling better as I went along. I did a progression run for the next 5 miles and the splits were:

1st - 7:28

2nd - 7:05

3rd - 6:53

4th - 6:43

5th - 6:33

The last couple I didn't feel very good. I felt like stopping after the 4th mile but kept going and I am glad that I did. I felt better after the run and it was good to get a nice solid run in outside.

We are supposed to have freezing rain and snow through the night tonight so may have to do tomorrow's long run on the treadmill. Maybe it will miss us.

Way to get your second wind after the 4th mile. Sometimes it takes 4 miles just to feel comfortable in a run. How's your body feeling after a few weeks from your marathon.

I hope the weather doesn't get nasty for you. How's work and family life going for you.

Your training is going well, it looks like you are going to have a good 2009. Can't wait to see how you do in 5k - half marathon in the spring and summer!

Kory, Thanks for the feedback. I seem to have come out of the marathon ok. This is my second full week back to training so just fell a little flat right now. I am sure the body will adjust soon. Family is doing great just getting back into the routine of school, etc. Next week I have to travel again for work so that is a bummer but just part of the deal.

Will, I am really looking forward to racing more this year. Hopefully, the results will be good.

Nice run today...way to dig deep at the end.
